Announcing the funding, Finance Minister Sue Ellery explained that high-quality bids on major projects require considerable investment from builders. Targeted at projects with construction works valued over $100 million, eligible contractors are able to apply for a financial contribution up to $750,000 towards their bid costs. We understand that high-quality bids on major projects require considerable investment from bidders. The intent of this policy is to partially offset expenses borne by proponents to ensure the bids are developed at a high level, further supporting industry and reducing risk to the State.”

AutogenAI, the worlds leading AI-powered bid and proposal writing software, levels the playing field for SMEs to have better access to bidding for, and winning, public sector contracts.

Emma Crichton, AutogenAI APAC CEO, said Construction companies can harness the power of generative AI technology to create high-quality content for tenders. AutogenAI can extract critical information from large documents in minutes, reducing the time it takes to identify and isolate bid requirements. It quickly gathers and analyses relevant information from your knowledge library and the internet and reduce your reliance on subject matter experts, creating compelling, and accurate content for the bid writing team, in minutes rather than days.”

Administered by the WA Department of Finance, this bid-funding initiative is relevant to critical projects including hospitals, correctional facilities and cultural buildings, as well as strategic regional projects.

Master Builders Association WA CEO Matthew Pollock commented, Offsetting bid costs for large or complex projects will encourage more contractors to bid. Greater competition will mean better bids and better value for money for taxpayers. There is a record pipeline of major projects to deliver in WA. This initiative is about industry and Government working collaboratively to ensure we deliver the major project pipeline in the most effective way possible.”
